Stren Pro Chris Lane Wins Elite Series Title
Stren pro Chris Lane of Guntersville, Ala., fought through his southern fishing style to earn a victory up north on the B.A.S.S. Elite Series by a margin more than 5 pounds. With the victory, Lane, who totaled 82 pounds, 4 ounces over the four-day event, captured the Plano Championship Chase title on Lake St. Claire, Mich.
"This win wasn’t easy by any means," said Lane. "I simply stuck with what had been working for me throughout the week. I know most people view me as a southern fishing style, but I really feel I’ve showed my versatility this week. I couldn’t have done it without Stren. They've been with me and continue to produce line that feels the subtlest bite.” Lane spooled his Stren on an ABU Garcia Revo spinning reel and All Star AST rod.
Lane notched his ticket to the 2014 Bassmaster Classic, which by the way, is on his home waters in Guntersville, Ala. He also pocketed a $100,000 check for the win.
Since his first tournament on the BASS circuit, the Stren pro has five first place finishes, three second-place finishes and has finished in the money 76 times.
