JONNY SCHULTZ DOMINATES ARKANSAS JUNIOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Stren angler Jonny Schultz, age 13, ran the tables at the Arkansas Junior State Championship this past weekend. The Little Rock, Ark. native bagged a record 16-pounds, 2-ounces to claim the state championship. Schultz will compete in the Junior National Championships August 16-17 at Lake Monticello, South Carolina.

Schultz caught a record size limit and the biggest bass ever weighed in at an Arkansas Junior State Championship. His nearest competitor weighed in a limit of 6-pounds,

“I had a great day on the lake,” Schultz said. “I was using 12-pound 100% Fluoro Stren to haul in my bag. It is really sensitive to bites and you don’t get the added strength anywhere else.”

Schultz caught all his keepers, including an 8-pound lunker, in 4-feet of water bouncing a crankbait off stumps.  The Arkansas State Champ found that retying was key for his win, keeping his line fresh and his knots tight.
