Rated 5 out of 5 by RivR2319 from Great alt. to braid, especially for spinning reels I was skeptical at first when I purchased this line and put it to the test. With the Strength advertising it as a great line for spinning reels, I spooled up two reels for some saltwater rods and absolutely killed the black drum and trout all night with no issues with well over 30+ fish caught on each line. Extremely sensitive, smooth spooling back even when throwing weightless plastics. I've been using Stren mono for 3 years now and it's all I use for leaders or straight to the reel. But now, the Stren Max Cast will be my go-to line of choice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by BassMan1997 from Came in today, took it out in the lake works great. It's casts a lot further than my braids. Super strong!! Definitely buying a couple more spools. * the only downside it they only offer it in 150yds

Rated 4 out of 5 by alps357 from The best 'compromise' that's out there! Life is about compromises, what you can best live with. As the Stren advertising says on this product: "its monofilament-like body...Superline Advantage, Mono-Like Feel...." AGREED! I started using this line for inshore salt species (E Coast Fla) couple months ago, as well as some recent surf - all artificial lures, on bait-casters & spinning reels. 20 and 30 lb braid wts, with generally 20-40 lb flouro leaders. Snook, redfish, trout, etc. The good/great: + Not as limp as typical braids (it's a tad thicker), so I'm not getting the 'tic' of the leader knot as it shoots thru the tip-top on the casts...meaning less lost-energy and longer casts...and + No more hang-ups at the tip-top as sometimes happens with braid at the leader knot!!! + No more (or reduced!) wind knots + Knots don't seize down on themselves, so they can be easily worked out! Especially helpful on the occasional overruns that occur during night fishing on my bait-caster. THIS IS BY-FAR THE MOST-FORGIVING BRAID I'VE USED, AND I'VE TRIED 'EM ALL, INCL SOME THAT ARE 3 TIMES THE COST OF THIS. The troubling: - Due to its positive characteristics, not all leader knots (line-to-line) work. THEY WILL SLIP! I've lost lures and sizable fish, even smaller ones...lost a lure on a cast recently. Knot just slipped apart. To address this, I started experimenting --- there's a reason the Albright [Special] knot is listed on the website. While not as 'thin' a knot as the FG, it's thin enough, and will hold if done properly. THE KEY: I found 1) using 15 wraps of the braid around the leader loop and 2) constantly tugging all tag and running ends as you complete the knot...REALLY SPEND THE EXTRA TIME DOING THIS, TO GET OUT ANY(!) POSSIBLE SLACK...pays dividends. Still in testing, but over the last 10 days or so, it's bearing fruit. Have already recommended the product (with my above guidance) to those I know. Gave 4 stars only because the 'guidance' should be part of the product packaging. This is really a 5-star line! Tight lines!
